Aftersun Movie Review

"Aftersun" fails to capture the audience attention, with a deliberate slowness that makes the film visually bland and the lack of conflict makes it dull and uninteresting.

"Aftersun" by first-time filmmaker Charlotte Wells is a disappointment. The movie's framing and deliberate slowness may have been intended to create a sense of realism, but it instead made the film visually bland and difficult to watch. The lack of conflict in the film made it dull and uninteresting. The characters were not well-developed, and I felt like I didn't learn anything about them despite spending an hour and a half with them. Although there were some hints of a good coming-of-age story, it failed to capture my attention. I found the movie to be incredibly boring, and would rather watch paint dry than sit through it again. It's worth noting that the movie is getting good awards buzz, but it's not for me.
